Dr. Hagg grew up in Corning, NY and has always been a lover of animals. When she was 10 years old, her best friend was a black lab named Peppermint! She earned a Bachelor of Science in environmental engineering from Cornell University. During her studies, Dr. Hagg taught outdoor physical education courses (tree climbing, backpacking, snowshoeing, and canoeing). After graduating from Cornell, Dr. Hagg spent three years as an Outward Bound wilderness instructor for at-risk teens in Maine, Florida, and Alabama. She enjoyed mentoring students in life skills through the challenge and adventure of wilderness expeditions. Dr. Hagg also spent time in eastern Wyoming and western Nebraska while working as a veterinary assistant before attending veterinary school.
Dr. Hagg graduated from Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine in Harrogate, TN. During vet school, she was a student ambassador for Community Veterinary Partners and a research assistant. Additionally, she studied mixed animal acupuncture at the Chi Institute and is joining us as a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA). Dr. Hagg loves ‘all creatures great and small’ and is thrilled to be returning to her home state to join the team at Granville Small Animal Hospital! She loves being a veterinarian and is passionate about promoting the health and welfare of your fur babies (and your feathered friends and your scaly pals).
Her husband is currently studying to be an elementary school teacher. Dr. Hagg and Mr. Burgess met while they were both instructors for Outward Bound. They share a love for the outdoors and adventure. Together they are proud pup parents to Dina (Chocolate Lab and Australian Shepherd) and Tyson (Black Lab and Jack Russel). They hope to own some land and start a family farm soon.
