Dr. Geraghty started working here in February 2019 as a relief doctor to help fill in when one of our regular doctors couldn’t be here. We liked her so much, she is now joining us on a permanent basis!
Dr. Geraghty studied at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst during her undergraduate years. She completed vet school at Ross University in St. Kitts and did her clinical year at University of Tennessee. She started practicing veterinary medicine in 2015. Since then, she’s been continuing her education by studying acupuncture and chiropractic medicine. She is now licensed to practice acupuncture and is a certified animal chiropractor. She was inspired to pursue these specializations during appointments when there seemed to be no remaining options for animals with conditions like arthritis and incontinence, and she wanted to add these alternative treatments to her toolbox. Dr. Geraghty really enjoys interacting with her clients, educating them about treatment options, and working with them to identify the best choice for their situation.
Outside of work, Dr. Geraghty likes horseback riding, gardening, and other outdoor activities like hiking and kayaking. She lives with her husband, Sean, in Kingsbury. They have two dogs, Piper and Trooper. Piper was adopted in St. Kitts and is best described as a “coconut retriever,” one of those mixes commonly found in developing countries. Piper loves to tear coconuts apart. Trooper is a Red Tick Coonhound/Australian Shepherd mix who loves to do anything outside. Sean and Emily also have 10 chickens, 3 horses, 4 cows, and 1 duck.
