Dr. Jeffrey A Meyer, VMD
Lead Veterinarian – When Dr. Meyer joined Granville Veterinary Service in 1984, it was primarily a large animal practice servicing farm animals. He and his wife Lynn, a veterinary technician, began doing companion animal appointments between his farm animal calls, and that aspect of the practice grew until, in 1994, he gave up farm animals to focus exclusively on pets. In 1996, the original practice was split, and Granville Small Animal Hospital was born. In 1998, they built their current hospital, where they have been working ever since. Dr. Meyer and Lynn have two daughters – Sarah, her husband Alex, and their two children live in Danby, Vermont and Steph and her husband Geraint live in Wales in the UK. Dr. Meyer and Lynn love the time they spend with their grandchildren and enjoy visiting the UK yearly to see Steph and Ger. In their spare time away from the clinic, Dr. Meyer and Lynn spend their time working on their small farm, where they grow a large vegetable garden, tend their orchard of various fruit trees and berry bushes, grow Christmas trees and pumpkins, tap maple trees for syrup, and take care of 10 beehives. In addition they have four horses, fifteen chickens, three dogs, and six cats. Dr. Meyer also enjoys reading, skiing and fly fishing for trout in local streams.
