Dr. Jeffrey A Meyer , B.S., V.M.D.

Education: Cook College of Rutgers University, University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Meyer received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cook College of Rutgers University in May, 1979. He then went on to the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, where in 1983 he earned his VMD cum laude. He married his wife Lynn in 1980.

After his graduation, Dr. Meyer worked for one year at a small, mixed animal practice in Vermont. In 1984, he began working for Granville Veterinary Services, which was then a large animal practice. While there, Dr. Meyer developed a small animal service within the existing practice, and in 1996, the two practices separated, and Granville Small Animal Hospital was born. Dr. Meyer has been the sole owner since that time.

He currently resides in Granville, just a few minutes from the office, with his wife Lynn and two daughters Sarah and Stephanie. He also lives with five dogs, two cats, a dozen chickens and five horses. He spends his free time working around his small farm, gardening, improving wildlife habitat, growing Christmas trees, fishing, hiking, skiing and perfecting his fish pond.





Dr. Beth A. Kissack, B.S., D.V.M.

Education: University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California, Davis

Dr. Kissack grew up in New York City, but moved to the San Francisco Bay Area for high school with her family. She attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as an undergrad, graduating in 2004 with a major in marine biology and a minor in political science. She worked for 1 year at a small animal clinic in Los Angeles before starting veterinary school at the University of California, Davis in 2005. During veterinary school, she was active in multiple animal rescue groups, low-cost free spay/neuter clinics and volunteered at a free clinic for the animals of the homeless population of Sacramento. After graduating veterinary school in 2009, she immediately began work at a small animal clinic in Davis, California, where she stayed for 2 years. In September 2012, she decided to return to her East Coast roots and moved to West Pawlet, Vermont, where she lives with her fiancé (also a veterinarian), 3 dogs and an assortment of cats. Her special interests include internal medicine, surgery and ophthalmology.




Carmen A Dodge , A.A.S.

Education: Adirondack Community College

Carmen received her A.A.S. in Accounting from Adirondack Community College in 1985. She started working at Granville Small Animal Hospital in 1997 as the Office Manager.

Carmen lives with her husband and two children on a beef farm in South Granville, they share their home with 4 dogs, 2 cats.

In her spare time she enjoys hiking , 4 wheeling and floating in the pool.





Mrs. Lynn J Meyer , A.A.S., B.S., L.V.T.

Education: SUNY Canton, St. Lawrence University

Lynn Meyer received her A.A.S. in Veterinary Science Technology in 1975 from SUNY Canton. She then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science from St. Lawrence University in 1978. After her graduation, she spent one year working as a technician for a mixed animal practice in Vermont.

In 1980, Lynn married Dr. Jeffrey Meyer, and the two moved to Philadelphia. Lynn began working at the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, where she spent 6 months. After that, she worked for 3 and a half years at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, in the Department of Human Genetics. In 1983, she and her husband moved back to Vermont, where they both worked at a mixed animal veterinary hospital. In April 1984, Lynn had the first of two daughters, and took the next four years off to focus on her family. Her second daughter was born in May 1986. She returned to work in 1988 at Granville Small Animal Hospital with her husband.

She currently lives in Granville just a few minutes from the office, with her husband Jeffrey and two daughters Sarah and Stephanie. The house is also full of pets---five dogs and two cats. She enjoys spending her (limited!) spare time riding her five horses and gardening.





Jodie Prouty , A.A.S., L.V.T.

Education: SUNY Delhi

Jodie Prouty has been a technician at Granville Small Animal Hospital since 2000.  She earned her A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Science Technology from SUNY Delhi in May 1993. She worked as a kennel assistant at Granville Small Animal Hospital during high school and college.  She worked at Saratoga Springs Veterinary Hospital from 1993-January 2000.  In February 2000 she came back to work at the Granville Small Animal Hospital, and has been here ever since. 

Jodie lives in Hampton with her husband Jeremy, son Alix,  dog Sunny and 2 cats, Padme and Paisley.  When she is not working, she enjoys going to Alix's sporting events, watching Jeremy pull his tractor, playing with Sunny, reading and gardening.








Ms. Stephanie Graham, Receptionist

Years with Practice: 13

Stephanie has been working at Granville Small Animal Hospital since 1999. Before that, she worked at the Glens Falls Animal Hospital from 1994 until 1999. She lives in Fort Ann with her two children. Steph enjoys spending time with her children and reading.

Melissa Brown

 Education: Adirondack Community College, Penn Foster college online

Melissa started working for Granville Small Animal Hospital in September 2005. Previous to her employment here she is a 2002 graduate of Granville Jr/Sr. High School. She attended Adirondack Community College in the fall 2002 and spring 2003 semesters for veterinary technician. She is currently enrolled in the veterinary technician program through Penn Foster college online.

She married her husband Scott on July 14, 2007. They live in their home in Dresden with their 4 dogs (Riley, Jenna, Reese and Quinn), 2 horses (Jalen and Dallas), and multiple turkeys, chickens, and ducks.


Melissa and Scott have a maple syrup business outside of there full time jobs.  Right At Home Maple was started in 2011 and has grown to be very big part of their spring.

In her spare time outside of work and school she enjoys playing with her dogs, gardening, going to car shows with her husband, horse backriding and just relaxing at home. 



  Darlene Gould

  Hospital/kennel animal care manager and groomer

Darlene Gould has been working at the Granville Small Animal Hospital since March of 2010. She comes to us with a long history of dog obedience training and animal care, having previously worked at a pet store and also leading training classes.

Darlene lives in Wells Vermont with her son Keith and also 4 dogs, 3 cats, geckos and 2 trantulas. In her free time Darlene enjoys knitting, crocheting, crafts and horseback riding.






  Shirley Williams

  Hospital/kennel animal care manager and groomer

Shirley has been with us since October 2010. Her position requires her to have hands on with all hospital and boarding animals. Her compassionate care and watchful eyes has helped many animals successfully recover under our care

Shirley Williams lives on a small farm with her husband and her two boys. Her farm includes two dogs, six cats and four horses.

She has in the past owned and operated a horse boarding facility, a dairy farm and has done volunteer work at several animal rescue and humane societies.
